Too many Christians torment themselves, desperately begging, pleading with God for things He has already promised. God cannot respond to this desperation, He responds to our faith.. Without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6).
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us." (2 Corinthians 1:20)
As believers in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we have entered into a covenant with God and become recipients of His promises, found in the Word of God: the Bible. By giving our lives to God, we promise to obey His Word. God will then pour out His blessing upon us because we are now His children. Everything His Word promises is for us to receive. We receive these blessings by faith.
To please God, we express our faith by confessing His promises and by doing this it will guide our lives in the proper direction. By confessing a promise, directed to ourselves, we are stating that it applies us. It is expressing faith when we confess that we are the ones who are going to receive the blessing.
God has promised His people “So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)
As Christians, we are to speak the things that the Word of God declares as truth. We easily repeat what men have to say on a subject, and many times we believe them instead of what the Word of God has to say about it.. We need to stop looking at our circumstances and start looking at the Word, for we can change things by confessing God's Word over them.
